Kim Wheeler

Director, Red Wolf Coalition

Kim Wheeler is the Executive Director of the Red Wolf Coalition, the only citizen nonprofit organization in the United States working exclusively for red wolves. Since taking the leadership role in 2005 for the Coalition, Kim has kept the organization focused on the tough and ever-changing challenges of red wolf restoration and conservation. She lives and works in the heart of red wolf country in northeastern North Carolina where she is a community leader as well as a red wolf advocate and educator. Kim is the 2009 recipient of the “Who Speaks for Wolf” award from the International Wolf Center and the 2016 recipient of the Roosevelt Ashe Outstanding Educator in Conservation.
