Rodney Boertje
Research Biologist, State of Alaska, Retired
Rodney was born in Iowa and received degrees in Minnesota and Louisiana before attending the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, where he earned a Master’s degree in 1981 and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in 2014 in Wildlife Management. His Doctorate recognized his prolific publications on moose, caribou, wolves and bears that allow today’s managers to approach decisions with sound, science-based information. Rodney was applauded by both sides of the debate over predator management for the integrity and objectivity of his contributions.
